I have always associated with Puerto Rican culture. As a child I frequented the island’s luscious terrain, spoke the Spanish language with gusto, and ate the food with even more gusto. However, last November my Puerto Rican psyche was dealt a serious blow when I met and dated a fellow Boricua. As a first date, I decided to take her to the Nuyorican Poet’s cafe for a Latin Jazz concert. Continue Reading
