This was both part of the pledge process for the fraternity and an opportunity to expose one’s talent.
The program started at 6:20 PM and was approximately three hours long. There were about a dozen performances, which included songs, poetry recital, group dance, and stand up comedy. Newly elected Vice President of freshman, Mathew Feeney, also did a standup comedy.
Thehostscontinuouslyasked the audience to come up and showcase their talent, promising incentives like free food. Some of the audience members did take this opportunity.
There was some miscommunication between Office of Student Activities and the organizing body because the emails that had been sent out listed the starting time as 7:00 PM. Tim Pecoraro, an organizer, expressed his frustration in the closing speech. However he said,
“You cannot guess how happy I am that this program has been a success.” The winner was chosen by the cheering approval from the audience. When the cheer continued equally for Aigner Holmes, a senior and the dance team of DSP plegdees, the prize money was doubled and distributed equally among the two.
